A cultivated haven, set between the authentic charm of Roatan and abundant coral reefs.
Barefoot Cay is one pearl in a necklace of cays just off the south shore of Roatan between French Harbour and Brick Bay.
Our private islet sits a mere 85 feet from the main island, yet it’s a world entirely apart. Step-on pontoon passenger ferries await to whisk you across the narrow channel in almost a heartbeat, ushering you into a lush sanctuary where everything else virtually disappears.
Life on the cay feels calm, centered. And just beyond is the resplendent Caribbean, with its azure waters and vibrant coral reefs. The sea here is brimming with life, beckoning for you to explore.
Rustic, globally inspired dishes prepared from fresh, local ingredients, served al fresco at the poolside dining room at Barefoot Cay.
“This resort is centrally located on the island so you're somewhat removed from the tourist feel of West Bay/West End ...A private, individual experience where the staff offer a focused, personal touch. I can't recommend this place enough and am looking forward to a return visit”
“One of the best places in the world to be for diving, relaxation and food! Great views of the ocean, beautiful bungalows, restaurant, and staff. Diving operation is top notch, so much beauty underwater and all around ...Great place for a romantic getaway!”
“Laid back and lazy time, totally unique. Wonderful first class facilities and staff, the swimming pool was perfect. A great restaurant and bar. My wife prefers more people around but I enjoyed it the solitude immensely. Can’t recommend it enough for those wishing to kick back, relax and enjoy.”
Centrally located between Roatan's more touristed West side and less-populated East end, our locale provides the perfect jumping-off point for exploring and experiencing the island; ask our front desk staff to assist with arranging taxi service, or a rental car if you'd prefer to venture out on your own.
Our step-on pontoon passenger ferry is available 24 hours a day to transit guests across the narrow 85' channel that separates the Cay from the Barefoot Divers building on the Roatan shore, so guests have convenient access to the island of Roatan and all areas of the resort.
